Loop + CK61 organ + iPhone voice memo, babyyyy. Let's keep this sloppy.

Lyrics

God gets stoned, then god makes me Drops me naked in society Hands me a machete and an English degree “Let’s see how he handles this one”

Angels gathering around the bong Blowing signals, but they don’t last long I watch the hills burn as I write this song I can hear you up there laughing

I can hear you up there laughing With me or at me, I don’t know I can hear you up there laughing Laugh tonight, just wait til I get home

Diggin the lo-fi offerings. Particularly delightful chords, and the flutey organ on that CK61 gives it a real gospel flavour fitting of the lyrics. Vocals are stellar, and I definitely like the idea of angels ripping bongs up in clouds of smoke... now that's a religion I can follow!

Good tune man, great voice. Reminds me of something... Dig the lyrics, a sentiment that generally, I think is pretty relatable

@bigmood

The lyrics in this are awesome, and the melody allllmost feels like a 90s powerballad but the production is so much more minimal than that. Vocals ate, you sing so effortlessly

This track is so much fun. I love the beat. I'm impressed that this was one take on an iphone. I love the energy of it being one take.

[avatar]

I'm telling my kids this is Christian Contemporary Music

[avatar]

I thought of so many inappropriate things to say!!! you're amazing, babes, kudos! 💚

[avatar]

You are such a pro. Rhythm got me and organ put me in a church bench trying to sing along the words I did not know yet. In the end just smiling even though I did not quite laugh along. Maybe next time.

biblical. always great to have you on board. this is an inspirational start. i want to incorporate more phone myself, and i'm ever a fan of sloppy. not too unexpected, but i like the mix with the clean organ plus the sloppy voice memo. strong, funny, potentially provocative lyrics, as often.

“Sure”

@cowex

Fun lyrics! "Let's see how he handles this one" indeed. Also that clap loop is addictive.

[avatar]

I love your creative lyrics and this is no exception. That first verse is profound!

[avatar]

Solid work and totally groovy. Love your vocals they are spot on and that chord on the second phrase. Simply beautiful.

[avatar]

Damn, gorgeous as ever. Didn't recognise the new username but sure as hell recognised that voice!

@mikeb

Yes, it does feel like that - too often these days. Good job!

[avatar]

I forgot this was your account now so I thought you had left! But you didn't; instead, you came in like a pissing ball. Hope to hear more sloppies from you this month!

[avatar]

Really enjoyed this lyric, great idea. Nice simple delivery that has a compelling feel. Very good song. Foot tapping here!

[avatar]

funnn! really enjoyed this. the percussion was particularly enjoyed :)

[avatar]

The lyric is great and loved that organ and rhythm. Maybe this is all just one big sitcom on God's TV.

@andyr

Really nice. I like how the hand-made vibe and voice contrast with the dark bitter view of whoever's up there..

[avatar]

prolly will give this a proper recording this eve

[avatar]

Haha, so cool. You're giving me Perfume Genius vibes a little bit here, which is unequivocally a Good Thing. Lush vocal performance, and that beat is so cool - it gives the allusion of being huge but it's so non-intrusive and serves the song as it should.

[avatar]

Great lyrics! "machete and an English degree". And the production is superb, building throughout. Love the Hammond B3 patch! Hymn #42 at the First Church of Skeptical Rastafarians?

[avatar]

Oooh I love this. Very cool sounds and the first verse especially really scratched an itch lyrically, very sick. Great stuff.

[avatar]

I really dig the chord progression. Great lyrics and cool rhythm

@deena

This is amazing... a voice memo!!! You've got the touch!

[avatar]

Great feel and flow for this song. I like the humor in it and the view of God getting stoned and then making you is great!

@lcad

Love this. From the picture to the opening stanza to the production, vocals and organ. Wonderful wonderful stuff. Thank you

@markg

Quite a message in the picture. Pity those on earth. F em, I'm god.

@judypie

Damn. Can you stop being so cool for a second?! Leave some cool points for the rest of us. It’s delectable yo.

[avatar]

Sounds like you might be from LA or at least in residence there as you compose this masterpeice.

@maybe

Compellingly Irreverent and surreptitiously touching. Nice one.
