Lyrics

Can you hear me? Say HEY

Say it louder, HEY

I wanna hear you Loud and clear Can’t you see what’s happening here

No matter how you spin it Your hands are in it You gotta tell the clay which way to go

I know it isn’t easy Your stomach might feel queasy But other times the pot just seems to flow

I wanna hear you Loud and clear Can’t you see what’s happening here We gotta raise our arms we gotta stand up tall Together we stand Divided we fall Can you hear it? I’m listening

Can you hear me? Say HEY

Say it louder, HEY

Take a good look around You will hear the sound Your ears are better than you might think

Use what’s in your heart Give it a jumpstart Powerful connections when you link

I wanna hear you Loud and clear Can’t you see what’s happening here We gotta raise our arms we gotta stand up tall Together we stand Divided we fall Can you hear it? I’m listening

Can you hear it? I’m Listening!

Nice! That first phrase gets new life from the second. I also notice there's potential for call and response, which is a pretty cool concept to include in a song about listening.

The pause for the musician to listen to the audience in return is great.

The part that everyone keeps saying sounds really epic reminds me of a Bond song. I heard once that the trick to those is one section of the orchestra is playing in a minor key while another is playing in a major key. I can't tell for sure if that's what you did, but it has that vibe somehow.

Oh, a pottery metaphor, clever!

I love how you processed that ukulele, it's so crunchy!

That crescendo after the quiet opening is amazing!
