Lucy A. Afarensis

Liner Notes
In 1974, parts of the skeleton of a female Australopithecus afarensis, a pre-human species, were found in Ethiopia and it was discovered that "Lucy", as they called her, still had prehensile claws on her feet, but could already walk upright (and had her arms free so that she no longer needed them to support her walking). She was only about fourty inches tall, but over the last few years I have increasingly gained the impression that Lucy was a step ahead of us. We could – no, we urgently should – learn from her!
Gear: guitar WILDSAU (Ibanez S771PB-NTF) with preamp BÖMBUR (Fender Mustang Micro Plus), bass MUMAK (Harley Benton Enhanced MJ-4MN Natural), drumloop ROXX (Zoom R4), which also was the recording unit – I sung into its built-in microphone (to use its preamp for vocals was not the best idea I had). Arrangement and mixdown MICKI (Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 10), delays TAUSENDMUND (tc electronic TC 2290) and reverb WAHLHALL (tc electronic DVR 250).

LUCY A. AFARENSIS
Lucy A. Afarensis Uns Hominiden droht Verhängnis Lucy A. Afarensis Wir stehen vor unserer Vergängnis Lucy A. Afarensis Du kannst uns retten Aus unserm Zivilisations- Kettenreaktionsgefängnis Sag uns: Hier geht's lang
Lucy A. Afarensis Lehr uns, was du kannst Lucy A. Afarensis Lehr uns aufrechten Gang Von dem wir lange schwärmten den wir jedoch verlernten weil wir unser Denken, Lenken, Fühlen, unser Streben ganz entkernten von aufrechter, echter und gerechter Menschlichkeit Es wird Zeit!

=======================ENGLISH
LUCY A. AFARENSIS
Lucy A. Afarensis You are hot You are the hottest You were the very first
Three million years ago there were no first humans anywhere you were already walking along upright and completely uninhibited – only occasionally sitting on trees – as Australopithecine
There were no sapiens for a long time yet What walked usually had crooked legs Except for you – not you Although you could still swing from branch to branch reach with your feet dangle upside down and sing songs? Maybe not quite, but you invented the upright walk
Lucy A. Afarensis My favorite australopithecine I wish I had a little time machine I'd bring you an orange from the future and I lured you here yes, I picked you up into the future Because ours is running out We have everything here that flashes and hisses but also the mess
Lucy A. Afarensis Doom threatens us hominids Lucy A. Afarensis We are facing our doom Lucy A. Afarensis You can save us from our civilization's chain reaction prison Tell us: this way! Lucy A. Afarensis Teach us what you can Lucy A. Afarensis Teach us to walk upright Which we raved about for a long time but which we have forgotten because we completely gutted our thinking, steering, feeling, our striving completely gutted of upright, genuine and just humanity It's about time!

Ha, sehr hübsch! Hey, der aufrechte Gang rockt, funkt, was auch immer - macht Spaß. Sollte doch eigentlich überzeugen. Hm.
Laidback, grooved! Australopithecine :-) Eine Apfelsine aus der Zukunft
Was für eine brillante Idee! Und textlich wie musikalisch grandios umgesetzt!
This is a lot of fun. Love the guitar. Your lyrics and vocal styling add a lot.
Great topic for a song. Great laid-back garagey guitar sound and very cool vocals. The lyrics are really clever. Love "I'd bring you an orange from the future."
