Lyrics
Sean’s Place
[Verse 1] Looking out the window on a sunny winter's morn Listening to stories from where we were born. Comparing our lives and the paths we had to choose Makes for a lovely time drifting into the afternoon.
[chorus] Pick up a guitar strum a few bars Reflect on the journey that brought us this far. Making mem'ries today, reflect and transport For those moments alone, when we're far apart.
[verse 2] People come and linger in this welcoming place Talking to new friends, sharing face to face stories flowing freely, the ideas blooming bright We're slow to depart, as the day turns into night.
[verse 3] Miles of smiles and snippets of songs Conversations that blend all day long Thinking of each other and the stories we shared Today was wonderful, and I'm grateful you cared.

What a lovely slice of life. Your voice is perfect for setting up the warm scene. Really enjoyed my listen!
What a lovely voice! Gratitude certainly is present here. I love the humming interlude. Very relaxed, nothing forced.
Everything about the song sounds like a sunny, cold winter morning. It feels distinctly canadian.
I wanted to be there! Glad it was so inspiring for you.
The evolution of the melody (if memory serves) and your more-sure instrumentation are well-presented here.
@ductapeguy The cookies make the party :)
What a beautifully told capture of a lovely afternoon. I'm getting the warm fuzzies from your lyric.. and a sense of missing out... and possibly a sense of getting some friends together while I'm thinking about it.
It was so amazing to watch you capture this portrait in real time. And so very good to have you in our home on a day full of friendship and joy. @coolparadiso , Linda and her husband were indeed teaching me about retirement. They were at my house for a workday's long musical gathering full of song and stories to commemorate my retirement. At least 2 songs were written on the spot, 2 friends shared tracks from their upcoming new albums, and there were so many cookies.
This was great! Super lovely send off.
Aww… this is really lovely! Wonderful melody and story.
Hope you are teaching him about retirement! If good musical company can’t inspire you what can ! Nice
Good vocal performance. The melody is unique but feels very much like 60s folk you know? Not old time or jazz age or modern etc. Did you do that on purpose? If so, that's skillful. I like the unhurried pace which matches the lyric. Thanks
