Summer Breeze
Skirmish: Time-warp Tuesday - - Son... (@dudachris)Liner Notes
I feel like that "cold shoulder" part is from a Sabrina Carpenter song haha #skirmish #acoustic #acousticonetake #folk #singersongwriter
Lyrics
Chorus
Summer breeze The birds chase the bees They’ll keep flying til the frost comes Deep within the forest A heart beating malnourished Might just need a little sun
Summer breeze I’d be on my knees If you ever looked my way Begging for your attention Cold shoulders your fav position Will you meet me half way
V1 Humidity’s bad this time of year From my house I can hear the tugboats asking for all clear The loudest horns you’ve ever heard Searching for the shore Or lack thereof
V2 Sand at the beach is spelling out words Baked too long now I’m sunburned There’s a certain type of peace Feeling sand beneath your feet And the wind in your hair

This is a really great tune, I can totally see the images you paint with the lyrics! Nicely done.
Ooh I love this -- the guitar + your voice combo is really delightful and the lyrics are very evocative.
Makes me wonder where your from cuz I wanna plan a trip in July or something lol! A wonderful write and an A+ performance; thanks for sharing 😀
The sensory details you've chosen for the tugboats and the beach make some beautifully clear scenes.
Love the clunky, lo fi plucky bassy guitar, how your voice drops at "or lack thereof" but then climbs at the end of other lines. Gives me a Walkmen vibe but also a sound all your own. Dreamy. 2nd "Summer Breeze" stanza is just. the. BEST.
You do poetic nostalgia so well. Your lyrical nods and flow to nature always hit home, carried by that beautiful singing and guitar. Of course you have dried pressed flowers encased on your pedals.
