Liner Notes

Somehow my phone thinks it has enough space to record for the moment, so I figured I should take advantage and improvise something while it'll let me.

If my voice sounds strained, I realized that I'd been holding my phone at an awkward angle and then sort of twisting to sing into it, even though I know it'll pick me up just fine if I don't do that.

Not my best attempt at remembering what I did for the previous verses so I can repeat it, but hey it's the middle of the night and I had actually already gone to bed. Closed my eyes for like ten minutes and then had to write a song, isn't that just the FAWM way.

#improvisation #improv I don't know what this song is about or what the genre is, someone suggest a hashtag. #WhatGenreIsThis

Lyrics

[Verse 1] If I knew What to do Would I be Here with you? Though I can't imagine anything that's better

[Verse 2] If you'd seen What I've seen You would turn a shade of green Brighter than the very blondest Irish setter

Have you heard a word I've said Or have your ears just gone stone dead?

[Verse 3] If you know Where to go Then I wish you'd tell me so Though I can't imagine anywhere that's better

And I hope that you'll accept this open letter Because I've never been any more upsetter Can you teach me how to speak to you in tones you like? Someone told me it's just like riding a bike, riding a bike

[Verse 4] If you knew the thing to do Why didn't you, and why don't you? But I've got to tell it to you true I don't think it gets better

I like the letter framework and how there is a contrast between the open ended questions and one or more eventualities. As to genre, I feel like this is from a musical that has yet to be written. Though certainly musical context sometimes points to a direction.

I like the questions that deliver a sense of uncertainty and honest feeling vulnerabilty. The delivery of the melody works well for the message. Great job!
