ALONE IN THE RAIN

Liner Notes
I had the title and 4 lines for this but could not find a focus. In my head it was a 'you left me and I'm sad' piece. This morning I realised the focus is the weather. So here's another rapidly finished #acousticonetake
Lyrics
‘ALONE IN THE RAIN’
As I wandered lonely A looming gloomy cloud Wrapped around me A dank heavy shroud
Caught in it’s shadow Blocking light and sound Wispy edges flapping like a flag Thunder rolling loud
Lost and bewildered When it began to pour Don’t want to be alone In the rain any more
Wind bit like bullets Through the dismal day Threatened another deluge That could carry me away
Don’t know what doing out here Damn weather is so unkind Shivering and unhappy In danger of losing my mind
Must be looking for someone Or for something than will help To find a way out of here Help me find myself
Lost and bewildered When it began to pour Don’t want to be alone In the rain any more Don’t want to be alone In the rain any more

Nice allusion to Wordsworth at the start and I particularly liked the imagery of that second verse, actually I think the whole lyric is strong. The wintry musical feel really suits the mood. Kudos too on that closing riff, very effective.
Nice and melancholic, not hard to see what inspired it in a miserable February. Good song Paddy.
Rapidly finished but I like the comparisons of being alone and a rain storm. The picking at the end was a great way to finish the song.
Ooh, Helen's violin makes this even better!
