The Three Shards Chapter 7: Conflagration

The unrest is tearing the clans apart. Pens are sharpening into swords, as skirmishes dot the city. First downtown in the nightclubs, then the restaurants and storefronts. Violence. Arson. It spills over to the docks where the clans sabotage shipments in and out of goods both legal and not. Until it reaches the Castle District, with its posh mansions, where many of Lord Sanguine’s Court reside.

The Court lashes out, feeling pushed out of the limelight by the Three Shards. War erupts throughout the streets of the city. Night after night the Lodge vainly sends officers out in force to quell the violence.

As lodge leadership grows tired of the constant violence, Spassky (a seasoned officer) is dispatched to talk to the clans....

Yes, I am so here for that clangy metal industrial beat!! It's got darkness, violence, unrest all over it. Your pieces are paced out really well, they sculpt the narrative with highs and low, subtlety and in your face epic madness without feeling rushed ever. That voiceless choir is perfect!

Picking up a subtle dotted-eighth-note delay on the crowd noise in the intro and sure enough, the groove drops right in to it. Masterful. It's enough to make me think of this in terms of a Pink Floyd epic though thankfully there's no Roger Waters rant incoming. Damage definitely doing some heavy lifting here. You know how much I love Heavyocity's stuff...

I love how you construct the liner notes for your storytelling. Thanks, too for sharing the programs you use (it reflects the extent of the work required for a good production).

was listening to this as I doze off and boy did that feel intense. mysterious and there's a hint of grand intimidation. very cinematic, fits the story exactly. really cool as always

Very intense indeed. captures the given scene for sure. Felt quite anxious while listening it is menacing.

Dark, mysterious, intense, lots of action and big events taking place!

It's been some impressive work so far, AEye. The two of you have earned a chance to rest up and retool before continuing!

This has a lot of build and intensity to it for sure!
