Everything

Liner Notes
Man, this one struggled to be born. It came to me in a flash the other day in the car, melody, lyrics, almost everything. "Oh, this'll be easy," I thought, "it's mostly written!" Ha.
Making it sound remotely like what's in my head has been a major challenge, and I'm still not completely happy with it. The mix is weird, I can't get the vocals where I want them, the guitars don't sound right, it's all a huge mess. And I love it, even if most of what I can hear are all the ways it sounds wrong.
(I literally just had to close Ableton so I didn't keep "just fixing one more thing"; this song is trying to kill me.)
I haven't written a love song in a while, and this one is for a certain special someone.
UPDATE: I made some edits to the mix, based on some helpful feedback and just listening to it with fresh ears. It's still not perfect (I mean hey, it's FAWM), but I'm a lot happier with it now.
Lyrics
when you're feeling alone just call me on the telephone even if i'm not at home the dial tone will tell you everything
when you wish upon a star and you've traveled very far just can't face it where you are just get in your car and tell me everything
you and i are from a different place i can see it written in your face why stand still you can when run the race
never made much sense but here we are wandering together near and far living for each other, always for each other
when you're in the dark of night longing for a glimpse of light i'll be there to hold you tight and we'll travel light taking everything everything

i love the way the vocals just float over this grungy gauzy guitar vibes, and the lead guitar just soars and complements the whole thing real well. the crunchy industrial percussion moments are so great too omg love
I really dig this. The guitar lead is really cool. I don't think it's sounds too messy like you say in the description but then again I'm not picky about mixes. If the song is there is there! Not to many layers either. It builds to that. Good job!
Jordan it's not a huge mess. The sound is super broad. All you need is some volume automation and a good compressor on the main vocals. A little less reverb there, and they will pop out of the mix! The backing vocals layers are alright. Maybe the lead guitar a bit to the back (= quieten).
The song itself is great. The main theme is infectious. I love to see how you develop!
