Different is Good (Palindrome)
Challenge: PALINDROMELiner Notes
Palindrome Challenge - This story of hannah and otto was inspired by a short story we read in third grade. The teacher and announced that hannah and otto were palindromes right before lunch, and no one knew what that was (including the reader) but it sounded funny, so they teased them. After lunch, the teacher gave the lesson and revealed what a palindrome was, making everyone feel foolish. I'll never forget that lesson on Palindromes and how I was along for the ride - I turned it into a song for this challenge #singersongwriter #acoustic
Lyrics
Hannah and Otto were singled out The teacher had said They were different They didn't know why So hannah just cried and otto became belligerent "You're different." she said And all the kids laughed And pointed their fingers and snickered Then finally at last she said, "that's enough class!" And all of the noisiness simmered Some say you're different Or weird or offbeat How you look how you think Or the foods that you eat But what if my dear You're just misunderstood What if different Was actually good Oh if we were the same What a bore that would be different and special A true rarity So be different So you're different And the teacher explained The difference was their name spelled forward or back It was the same "Now hold your head high palindrome 1 and 2 For you are unique And what's unique makes you, you" Some say you're different Or weird or offbeat How you look how you think All the food that you eat But what if my dear You're just misunderstood What if different Was actually good Oh if we were the same What a bore that would be different is special A true rarity So be different So you're different Just be different You know the opposite different Is indifferent Some say you're different Or weird or offbeat How you look how you think Or the foods that you eat But what if my dear You're just misunderstood What if different Was actually good Oh if we were the same What a bore that would be Different is special a true rarity So be different So you're different Just be different So hannah looked at otto And taller they stood Yes indeed they were different And different was good

The different / indifferent line is priceless!
Great take on the theme and nice little life lesson here. Love your delivery on this song. It was playful and fun. Loved it!
Clever and cute write in a fun, teaching, and most certainly entertaining way, @jessicamagoch ! Fab how you turned that teacher's teaching into a unique lyric hear, then grandly delivered it in song. The fact that you actually saw "palindrome" in a lyric that you had yet to write? Priceless! That just further shows how musically-inclined are you. Cool. Nice work, Jessica!
