The air purifier turned on loudly when I was cooking chicken I took it as a criticism of my kitchen skills and asked "Why do you always go on when I'm cooking? It hurts my feelings"
"Well," it said, "you always burn everything which causes smoke which causes me to go off you should thank me cos if it wasn't me it would be the smoke detector and that is much much louder and very shrill"
"And you think you could do better?" I asked "If I had arms, then yes. of course - a five year old child could ..." And that's when I unplugged it threw away the charred chicken and called for a takeaway
