Make This Town Your Own
Skirmish: Big Band Jazz 🎷🎺 (@rahma_the_bass)Liner Notes
#jazz #jive #acousticonetake Demo added February 18, trying not to add anything to the music that was in my head as I wrote the lyrics.
Lyrics
Musicians as models did not start with Grace Jones There was a whole generation with trumpets and trombones If there was no room for doubt that music was their art They would find a way to slide into your heart
Go on and make this town your own Blow on that trombone Smile and take us home
So it’s another town and another Tuesday night You can’t quite see the crowd between the footlights It doesn’t matter now because you’ve practiced for this moment And you’re on it well before the doors are opened
Go on and make this town your own Blow on that trombone Smile and take us home
Take us to another place Shine that light upon your face
Go on and make this town your own Blow on that trombone Smile and take us home

Great images and nod to big band history! Love the message that comes through!
Nice visuals. My great-grandmother was a flapper, and I like imagining her young and in those times. Although Big Band is really my grandparents generation. I love the trombone sound too. :)
Nostalgia provoking lyrics and quite visual. Good stuff for the prompt.
Well done picture of a nostalgic scene. The trombone is a perfect vehicle 'cause we don't see them that much any more. Good job. I got mine done a couple of weeks late. Listen if you like: https://write.fawm.org/songs/314278
