Haunted House

Liner Notes
A song from last year that I consider unfinished. A good foundation, my mind hears multiple guitar parts layered on top of each other, but I tried to play them all in one take just to get it down.
When I wrote this I was trying to be different in all parts of the song. The verse is intended to be a bit physcadelic overwashed in a chorus; and the refrain is intended to be heavy. And the post-refrain part is acoustic pretty.
I think a second verse could be warranted, but I decided to record what I had.
Lyrics
Haunted House
Verse: The gate on the path is open Leading to the mansion on the hill I don't know what happened to her I don't think we ever will Several years ago, She disappeared when her child dies And they say in the cold midnight You can still hear her cries
Refrain: Don't go inside You won't get out Don't go Inside
Pretty Part I can hear the melody Enticing me through the walls I cannot stop myself From wandering through these halls I don't think there is a way out I don't know how I Got in here The tears well up inside All I fear is fear

Hooo! It's such a treat to hear your music again. I can hear the layers--hope we get to hear what this sounded like in your head someday, but I like how it sounds now. Always that raw emotion in the strings. Parts of this song are haunted in the best way--guitar plus vocals and lyrics. I got chills! So many ways to take these lyrics. Loved the song.
At the start I just wanted to yell, "Don't go!" But there's just no stopping them - then I get to the chorus and I was like, "Yep, not along with the feeling." It's lovely how the melody creates an uneasiness to the song. Lyrics paint a great picture.
