Bedroom Ceiling

Liner Notes

Songwriting prompt with some questioning God thrown in for good measure. I guess this writing topic is going to continue for longer than I either planned or hoped. Oh well, it makes for good fodder.

I think the song needs a bridge but I couldn't come up with anything and I had already been "fighting" the song for two days to get what I got. I like this one enough that I will probably revisit it post-FAWM, and I'll try to add a bridge then.

Lyrics

Sun rise Sun set I’m still here Day after day I’m told I should trust But in what I can’t be sure No not anymore

My bedroom ceiling must be tired of looking down on me All the times I cried myself awake, on yet another heart ache Calling out to you, not sure what to do, why are you so far away My bedroom ceiling must be tired of looking down on me, down on me

Don’t speak To the love All these years God couldn’t give Just fleeting moments In a vast sea Of nothing Nothing

My bedroom ceiling must be tired of looking down on me All the times I cried myself awake, on yet another heart ache Calling out to you, not sure what to do, why are you so far away My bedroom ceiling must be tired of looking down on me, down on me

My bedroom ceiling must be tired of looking down on me All the times I cried myself awake, on yet another heart ache Calling out to you, not sure what to do, why are you so far away My bedroom ceiling must be tired of looking down on me, down on me
