Still You and Me

Liner Notes
Spent all day on this guy. Thought it was gonna be a more funky song to begin with, then I started from scratch with the same chords but made it more of a pop-rock-lovey-songy. Wrote about the theme that I often resort to for love songs on the spot which is something along the lines of “everything sucks except you”. Also I recorded drums on a Zoom H2 in my garage quietly to see if my new neighbors yelled at me. So far so good.
Lyrics
2 steps away from the front door in the coldest mornin Re-read the head of the front page at my desk when I should be workin, workin But I’d rather be, you and me, waiting to be
Seems like the world, is still you and me babe, were makin it happen we’re Fresh from the vine, I picked you and kept you, I’m better off living with you on my mind, it’s still you and me babe the fantasy’s thriving for me, me you and me
Needing escape, from this old world and it’s ever after Depleting my faith, in the midst of the happy ending that I asked for, and I’ll keep on believing that it’s gonna happen before, they shut the door
Seems it will be, just you and me babe We’re fighting the odds and we Don’t have to leave, we’re reading instructions interpreting feelings And me, and my mind, are set on beginning the end of my living with you, you only you And me you and we gotta be
always gonna be, me and you baby We can’t keep it waiting let’s be, still you and me

So good, I love this bass sound, whatever you did to it, I like it...and that chorus is great the way all these different things just come in. I like that depleting my faith in the midst of a happy ending...and speaking of endings this one is epic! Love the way it builds to that. Screw the neighbors, it was worth it
Smashing chorus! Reminds me of the way ABBA would write melodies with the intervals and all. Well done. Thanks 🙏
Man that guitar is recorded with such a good amount of compression on it. Great chord progression, definitely something I would put on while driving!
Wowee those drums sound killer. Everything sounds so good together actually. Dude maybe you need to revert back to worse recording gear permanently because it's bringing out some cool stuff ha! Great octaved vocals and harmonies in the chorus and that final progression in the chorus is so neat.
