Song title prompt with some stuff around my (by now) ancient divorce. Not sure why that's popping up in the lyrics so much on some of these songs as it's been long over and done with. I guess it's easy to find songwriting fodder there? I don't know...
I got a pretty decent song here. It's a little shaky in places but overall there's a solid idea, structure, and song here.
Lyrics
Well I’m not impressed I guess you could have guessed For all your bolstering You’re left with nothing to hold And every lie you told Every lie you still can’t own Seems well enough to me You traded reality for dreams
And now you have nothing to show for it all
Make it seem like you’re the queen so you’re all they see Tried to warn you but you wanted your make believe You got played by the very game you made You got played
Oh
How about now How does it feel to go without Wishing every other day That you would’ve stayed
And now you’re somehow even more alone
Make it seem like you’re the queen so you’re all they see Tried to warn you but you wanted your make believe You got played by the very game you made You got played
Oh
You may be sorry But you never told me You may be sorry But that’s never been on me
Make it seem like you’re the queen so you’re all they see Tried to warn you but you wanted your make believe You got played by the very game you made You got played
You got played by the very game you made is an incredible line. Although thus song is pointing out some faults in the other it really does feel like you're in control of your feelings and where you're at. I dig it. Really like the bridge thing where it kinda goes halftime. Good job!
