A Valentine's Day Gift to my wife, Inna.
Update 2/21: Re-Recorded Verse Vocals so they could stand alone with no doubling. That comb filtering sound from two tuned and oddly aligned (no thanks to Vocalign) vocals was killing me.
Maybe one last revision: the doubled voicing I have on the verses with exposed vocals & tight tuning & alignment create this weird phasey sound I'm not liking. May have to go for a more confident recording, some saturation, & less pitch correction.
Spent a lot of time on this one from the 12th through the 14th. Now that was a marathon with all the hurdles! Ugh. Have to be careful with that pace/level otherwise I’ll get burned out.
Started with the piano progression at Band rehearsal (been playing with it forever) and added the first chorus lyric to get an anchor. The rest I just added piece by piece as I was able. Definitely one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.
Figured out how to use Vocalign properly in the process of some revision 2/15. A challenge getting the secondary vocals to live beside the chorus vocals on the final big chorus. Decided to use Soothe2 in sidechain mid-side mode and to hit the chorus vocals hard based upon the sidechain of those secondary vocals to make space.

Wow, great overall sound. Love the lyrics here, and the melody is very catchy pop. Nice countermelody in the ad lib section.

Really terrific production, lots of doubling going on which is really fleshing out the sound. the sparse chord hits in the verse are really good at creating the space the song enjoys and help the chorus burst out that little bit more. the add lib is a really super touch adds that extra little sparkle. Top track really enjoyed it.

Yup very catchy! Classic valentines song. Really in the right place this is a hit song. Lovely music interludes. Very traditional hit progression ala pachabel. This is a good one.
