Live Again
Liner Notes
i kinda had the idea of doing a slower song to see how the vocals would go on it...i dont know if it really went better than my slightly faster songs but it was good practice i guess! the slowness kinda felt a little monotonous by the time i was done recording it though
anyway this is probably the first song on here where i really kind of got the song structure pretty established before i started recording, which made the recording process waaay easier
this song ended up being about frankenstein/trans stuff. the connection between the two is really interesting to me after reading susan stryker's essay "my words to victor frankenstein"
Lyrics
Where have I always been? Do I have to live again?
Why don't I have the pieces I need? Why does my flesh not bleed?
Looking back at my death Wishing I could finally rest
There's nothing left for someone to save Try to stay in my grave
Died to be born Now they just wanna kil lme Couldn't live my last life But I'll live again Live again Live again
Torn apart, put back together Maybe worse, maybe better
A thousand lives I've lived and died My body knows this isn't right
Forced to life, condemned to death Nothing lost, nothing left
Died to be born Now they just wanna kil lme Couldn't live my last life But I'll live again Live again Live again
I think this works as a slow song, it adds power to the words. The double tracked vocals are very effective and I like the synth coming in at the end
