Stop The Pain

Skirmish: Stop it! (@atornberg)

Liner Notes

#skirmish #acousticonetake #iphone Written and recorded in 30 minutes for this skirmish. Just a phone recording.

Lyrics

Every night a cigarette Every night a song about regret Every night I turn the page Every night I’m always ending the same way

How long can I stay? How long can you wait for a change? When will I rearrange? And find a way to stop the pain

Once again I ended love Once again I ended up all drunk I like to learn the hard way I was waiting on you to say

I’m not going to stay I’m tired of waiting on a change I will not rearrange It’s time we find a way to stop the pain

What a guy punch disguised as a bouncing campfire ditty. Love the playing, and the vocals are great.

The upbeat vibe and groove is a cool contrast with the sad subject matter, which I relate to a lot. Well-done on the phone recording - voice and guitar both sound great!

This masquerades as a happy song if you just listen to the chords, but holy hell is it sad. It's almost like the happy chords signify a total resignation to the inability to change, the lyrics hint at a heavy subject matter. Quite the magic trick you've pulled off here

I like the chords that insist on driving you to the conclusion that you want the pain to stop. "Stop the pain" really comes through. Nice job!

Ouch, this feels real. I like how the last verse echoes the second, but from a different perspective. Amazing skirmish.

Great rhythm on this great write

All mine are phone recordings! I rather like the juxtaposition of such a bouncy tune with the darker tone - although there's a determination to change as opposed to some kind of ennui. Nice write 😊
