Move Me

Liner Notes

Trying to expand my skillset I suppose. This is all so very out of my acoustic guitar one take comfort zone. The piano is programmed midi, cause I can not play (though I wish I could). I might have overdone the reverb. Need to move on though. #goodenoughforfawm

Lyrics

Move me

since when have I been walking around with mud on my feet
never even noticing each step is heavy so I drag it all along digging furrows in the ground i’ve taken all of these these things that keep me bound

wont you move me change my heart this stone I carry break it apart

it’s not easy to learn and let go to heal from past hurts forget what you’ve known

It might not always show but scars can callous
and thicken ones skin

wont you move me change my heart this stone I carry break it apart

This is so beautifully poetic with the strong images that express the mood and sentiment of the lyric so well. The keys work brilliantly here. The phrasing and pacing of your melody allows the melancholy to skink deep and ignite and empathetic response from the heart as I listen. Your vocals are gorgeous here and convey a vulnerability. I love everything about this song.

The soaring vocals are amazing! This is an important subject matter, and I love the way you've described it as "mud on my feet." Truly, carrying those hurts is like an extra weight carried through everyday. The harmonies just gave me shivers! I love an emotionally honest song, maybe even envy the bravery. The arpeggio in the back behind the piano really keeps this moving and interesting.

That patient arpeggio that runs throughout this is a lovely invention, and I really love the way the piano doubles it at the end. Another really heartfelt lyric and I'm glad you chose a slow tempo and an uncluttered arrangement because the words really shine in this one. #tit4tat

Sweet melody with deep, emotional lyrics. The midi sounds really good with your soft vocals. I really like it!
