I like the word varmint. I think I watched too much Beverly Hillbillys. #folk #oldtime #noAI #onlyHI
Lyrics
On the Grey county line I had a 10 acre place Alder bush along the back the first I saw your face With your tawny fur coat and your quick agile bends Made me smile to watch I thought that we’d be friends
I had a little garden chicken scratching in the fence I went out to the egghouse and I saw that awful mess Feathers torn and bloody, meat spoilin’ in the sun You didn’t need to do it, you did it just for fun
CHORUS Varmint in the egghouse those cold black eyes Varmint in the egghouse your sneakin’ evil ways Some wire and some boxes and a little weasel bait Next time you come visit meet a cold hard fate
It’s hard to understand what this world’s all about Do we live together and help each other out? Or sneak around behind, try and slit a throat I see now how you play it you stinking little stoat
CHORUS Varmint in the egghouse those cold black eyes Varmint in the egghouse your sneakin’ evil ways Some wire and some boxes and a little weasel bait That’s how we’re gonna play it meet a cold hard fate
I'm enjoying the vibe of this song.. very "O' brother Where Art Thou" .. especially at the beginning. I like the line "Do we live together and help each other out? Or sneak around behind, try and slit a throat." Well done.
