Old Days

Liner Notes
Slowly chuggin along in this challenge. I'm busy and tired af. Had this drowsy guitar bit, then I built on it and built on it til it sounded kinda complete and I was out of energy and ideas. Did a variety of percussion and played each drum separately in multiple takes. Wrote lyrics inspired by the feeling of leaving old belongings (and/or your old self) behind, maybe? Perhaps also inspired by Salad Days by Mac D. a little bit.
Lyrics
Old days are over, how do you think it went? Relive the moment that brought me to be, what I am. I watch the door, as it closes more, inching further in The direction that I thought I would be, is buried beneath the soil.
I don’t want more, but I’m lookin for, the light between the ends, Under the core, the earth is made for, your brain and your body to endure Keep reaching for, what’s under the floor, and it leaves you hoping for more Release your grip, and get close to it, cuz your old day’s have ended before.
Re-read the pages, that I had wrote back then A little note that told what I should be, and who i am Not anymore, it’s not me I’m sure, that person behind the pen Someone who’s been, believing that when It’s never gonna end
I don’t need more, but I’m lookin for, the world between the ends Reach for the switch, and turn into which You never expected before Keep reaching for what’s under the floor, And it leaves you hoping for more Relax your breath, and don’t wish the end That it will not come anymore

That chorus at the end just jumps out, on the I don't need more, so good! I love it cause it's all sort of laid back and lo-fi up till there and then it gets all huge and like surround sound. I like that opening line too, old days are over how do you think it went, that's a good opening line
The verse gently chugs along and then the chorus jumps out at you from left field melancholy. Production reminds me of those early UMO records.
Oh, this is so good. Love that soft percussion and this mesmerizing melody. Wonderful song! I really enjoyed it.
I'm came to this because I enjoyed happy anomaly so much. I really like this one too. I am engaged very much by your chord changes and I appreciate your laid back style. You make music I really enjoy listening to. :-). The 'i'm lookin for' lift at 0:53 is superb btw. :-)
