Lyrics
I’m tired And I’m lonely Come lay your head on my shoulder so I can rest You heal me I’m brokene Without your head on my shoulder I cannot rest
It’s filling up and it’s caving in The circumstances always win I’m losing ground I’ll disappear I cannot breathe without you here
My body aches My heart’s on fire Without your head on my shoulder I cannot rest My only truth is when you’re near Come lay your head on my shoulder so I can rest
When my arms surround you I give in to my deepest thoughts I can’t pretend There’s nothing more that I can do I’m not alive if I don’t have you
It’s always been It will always be Without your head on my shoulder I cannot rest I’ll always need your saving grace Come lay your head on my shoulder so I can rest
I will always feel empty without you I will never be whole without you Why would I even try
I’m tired And I’m lonely Come lay your head on my shoulder so I can rest You heal me When I’m broken Without your head on my shoulder I cannot rest Without your head on my shoulder I cannot rest Come lay your head on my shoulder
This is really cool, Jeff. it is an interesting balance between angsty and romantic. It's kind of dark, and yet sweet at the same time. The melody for "without your head on my shoulder...." is really a strong hook. And I really dig the atmospheric keyboard parts behind the main piano chords. Well done!
