This is a tune that probably wouldn't have made it without FAWM. I'd started fiddling with the main theme in fall. Fun, but I didn't know where it would work, so I filed it away. A couple of days into February, I brought it out again, and still nothing sparked. One more time.. tonight, I found a lyric in my notebook that fit it, a melody clicked, and the base of the song was done maybe 20 minutes later. Probably never would have happened if I wasn't already pretty deep in a creative zone. Yay FAWM!
One of my self-challenges this year was to do a few more no-guitar songs than usual. This fits. All synths, all the time! The gratuitous synth solo was a lot of fun, and the lead synth tone tickles my ear in all the right spots. Drums are EZ Drummer's Synthwave kit, and I've gotten a TON of mileage out of that this year. Lyrically, another sad sack song, about our self-sabotaging protagonist who drives away the people he loves with distance, because really he doesn't know how to love himself. Kinda.
Don't know if I'll revisit this later, but I'm glad it's here.

I love the chord structure of this. It went exactly where I not so much expected it to, so much as needed it too. Immensely satisfying.

I love your sad songs. The synths are so cool, you absolutely nailed the vibe on this one. I like how the vocals are a little backgrounded in the presence of that big synth soundscape. And the drums - that kit is amazing! I'm over here bopping my head along to your heartbreak. "I always meant to love you/but I never found the time." Damn.

Love the voice leading on the chorus. And the squelchy bass. Big 80s vibes - I admit I danced a little like I was in college.

The chorus is such a jammer 🎶 and that solo is so so cool, the lyrics are really nice with the beat great job !

Oh cool! Fun dancer you gave here. Love the deep saw bass. Such catchy, pop stuff. Oh that solo! This is a head bopper.
