Come On With Me Down The Road

by @analogj

Liner Notes

This is about taking a new journey to a new place, both figuratively and literally, where things are more peaceful and hopeful.

Lyrics

Verse:

Well I thought I'd take a ride At least it gets myself outside Get some fresh air. What do I care. As long as I have you by my side.

Someplace that we have never been. Stay away from the beer and gin Don't care where we go It'll be nice, I know As long as you're with me, it's a win

Chorus:

We've got a pretty big row to hoe We've still got many seeds to sow Come down with me and share the load Come on with me down the road

Verse:

Perhaps it's time to take a chance To rekindle our romance We don't know where But what do we care We can ride by the seat of our pants

Down this road of life we'll go Don't need a map, just let it flow Don't know what we're after As long as there's laughter And it'll give us room to grow

Chorus:

We've got a pretty big row to hoe We've still got many seeds to sow Come down with me and share the load Come on with me down the road

Verse:

Where after all this time I'd try To figure out and wonder why We can't move forward And give bloom to our orchard I think our limit is the sky

Chorus:

We've got a pretty big row to hoe We've still got many seeds to sow Come down with me and share the load Come on with me down the road

Classic 70s style piano ballad as others have observed. That chorus melody is especially uplifting. Solid song!

Love to hear you sing. No gin? Tequila then? This is a lovely, feel-good tune, and completely free of dead sheep :)

Love the piano on this one and the soulful lyrics. Kind of reminds me of Billy Joel or even Gordon Lightfoot a bit.
