I'm not who I thought I was
Liner Notes
#acousticonetake A bit of painful mid morning introspection. Wrote and recorded it pretty quickly. The honest ones are both the easiest and the hardest to write. Couldn't quite remember where I left my new Breedlove so I did this on my old Martin. Seemed fitting.
Lyrics
I’m not who I thought I was the veil now has fallen off my eyes and I feel so damned alone I don’t know what you think of me I never knew it honestly are you like me and never thought at all
I’m tired of putting on a show tired of pretending, to be somebody you want to know I’m hurt inside and not so nice maybe you should realize I’m not who I thought I was and I’m not who you think I am at all.
wish I could strip off all the makeup and my clothes and naked sit for all the world to see no more hypocrisy what you see is what I’d be take it or leave it whatever this is me
I’m tired of putting on a show tired of pretending, to be somebody you want to know I’m hurt inside and not so nice maybe you should realize I’m not who I thought I was and I’m not who you think I am at all.

Gosh, this is everything... I love the rawness in your voice, in your lyrical heart.
It's true, the most painful ones are the easiest to write.
Very nice recording-how do you record yourself? Good way to rise to the personal soundtrack challenge, which I think I am doing next.
I relate to your song a lot. Beautiful acoustic one-take and your vocals are especially lovely - the melody as well. I agree with you on the authentic songs - they also are more impactful because the honestly comes through in the music. Hope you felt better after you got this I - I really enjoyed listening to it.
Very relatable lyrics and a great on-take song. The emotion really comes through in your performance. Really enjoyed this.
Great effortless rhymes and a beautiful melody! Your voice sounds fantastic raw and upfront. Very nicely done!
