Couldn’t Press Send
Skirmish: Didn't press send (@richardmasters)Liner Notes
#lyricsonly The sad story of a message and no place to send it.
Lyrics
I was ready to tell you this time Lay it all out on the line Didn’t press send Couldn’t press send It was only a sheet of paper And my mind
I was ready to make a new start The told truths of the heart Didn’t press send Couldn’t press send No address no number And that’s the worst part
I don’t know what else I can do I can’t tell anyone Until I tell you I can’t keep it all inside I can’t just say that I tried This is a time For divine Intervention
I tried it again today The send button was gray Didn’t press send Couldn’t press send Cancel was all the screen Had to say
I stared at the blank address There was no path to success Didn’t press send Couldn’t press send Pretty soon my phone Was a mess
I don’t know what else I can do I can’t tell anyone Until I tell you I can’t keep it all inside I can’t just say that I tried This is a time For divine Intervention
So I’m talking on the radio I don’t know where the message will go Didn’t name names Couldn’t name names Took it as far as I could go
I don’t know what else I can do I can’t tell anyone Until I tell you I can’t keep it all inside I can’t just say that I tried This is a time For divine Intervention

A great portrayal of things held inside and not communicated, and the difficult feelings that go along with that. I can definitely relate!
This tugs at the heartstrings. Lots of emotion comes through the words reflecting the inability to express thoughts to the person we want to hear them.
The concept of the blank address; the phrase is about how you can’t tell anyone else until you’ve told them. It feels very relatable and real.
Cancelling rather than sending because there's no address or number to send to... that's a hard one for sure! Nice writing and the emotion gets through.
That darn grey send button! When cancelling is one’s only option, I guess it’s time to update
Some nice repetition going on here which really builds up the story. One that I'm sure is quite relatable to many. Good skirmishing
I like the creativity of this. It's about a specific situation or feeling, but never explicitly states what it is, leaving it up to the listener instead. Nice!
