Micro Machine

Skirmish: Bungee (@atornberg)Liner Notes
The first thing I pictured when I saw the prompt "Bungee" was those little toy cars that you pull back to let them zoom forward. It turns out those aren't actually Micro Machines but ah well. :) The verse lyrics were very stream of consciousness and I didn't want to edit them. Written in 40 minutes but went overtime as usual trying to get a good take.
Lyrics
I’m tied to you like a moth on a string like a moth on a string like a moth on a string and you are the lamp that I am drawn to
I spin my wheels like a micro machine like a micro machine like a micro machine and you are the hand, the hand that binds
CHORUS 1: On your mark get set now ready go I’m ready, ready go You let me fly, oh you let me fly, oh you let me fly and I'm free But no matter how far I go no matter how far I fly your fingers find me you pull me back to earth and launch me
CHORUS 2: On your mark get set now ready go Let go, not ready no Don’t tell me to fly, I can make me fly and I don’t need you I’m free Will you just stop watching, please Get your fingers off me Stop chasing my dreams Stop bringing me back earth to launch me

I remember Micro Machines. I even remember a few of their commercials. Simpler times...at any rate, I'm glad that you kept the lyrics as your thoughts were coming to you. They seem well-placed as is. I also like how the narrative ends up with the stop imperatives. Nicely written and beautifully rendered and with a cat serenade too!
So well done and love the lyrics and your stunning vocals as usual.
What a stunning skirmish result! Repeating the verses fits perfectly with the theme of being pulled back only to be launched again, and then changing the chorus to reveal the inner strength is flipping pop song structure on its head.
Love the harmonies as you play around with the musical and lyrical ideas throughout.
My younger cat just jumped on my desk, intently sniffing the speaker, as if she wanted to say "Where is that cat?" Also: such a fun idea in the lyrics!
Very pretty, nice guitar work...acceptance then the desire for independence. Also catchy with classic Debs harmonies. Well done, Debs.
such a pleasant to hear. great singing and playing, very gently played guitar and your voice is so beautiful... those background vocals are perfect and your vocals and background vocals sound really good together. i enjoy listening to this. the song sounds great. skirmish fun.
I love your vocals, and the overdubbed harmonies are heavenly. This is such a delight to listen to!
Nice overdub here! Sounds great with the fluent guitar work and nice voice! :)
I really like the repeated melody lines. And the kitty. 😺
Wonderful take on the topic and well worth the extra time to get such a fascinating take. Description of far too many controlling relationships of course.
