I Am the Enemy Within – Mike Delaney, for FAWM25
I’ve worked for the FDA for thirty years On cancer drugs for my whole career I am the enemy within
I tested air bags to make sure they worked Went the extra measure; I never shirked I am the enemy within
I worked to keep air and water clean When there was a major spill, I was on the scene I am the enemy within
I helped students get an education And I did it with professional dedication I am the enemy within
I kept airplanes on safe paths in the sky I got fired and I don’t know why I am the enemy within
B-part: The orange reality TV fake And his billionaire side-kick friend Are working to take it all apart Their destruction has no end
They’ll lower the taxes on their oligarch pals Pull it off with their evil deeds And do it while laughing in your face They don’t care about YOUR needs
I can protest, I can shout I can make sure it all comes out I am the enemy within
I can go on TV and spill my guts I can make sure they know he’s nuts I am the enemy within
I can leak any secret notes I can make sure everyone I know votes I am the enemy within
Another B-part: Project 2025 is what it’s called Why were so many hopelessly deceived? But they stumble as they pull it off Why are their efforts so misconceived?
We need to make our voices heard We must act fast; the time is short We must step up; We must act now “Hell No!” must be our retort
We are the enemy within We are the enemy within We are the enemy within

This is excellent, Mike, especially the first part. And yes, it is a keeper. Favorite part is the very first couplet which is very effective.
This one is a keeper. Hits home and hits hard. Interesting listening to this one after the song I just uploaded, and while wondering where we go from here.
