What We've Become

Liner Notes

Started off as vaguely inspired by Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility (for the second time this FAWM) but ended up being me having some fun with my new bass. #rock #books

Lyrics

Avoid me, I can go anywhere Nearly makes up for you being there It's not my choice but I can't say no So you'll just have to let it go

Things could be harder but not much I know I'll never be enough

Understanding where we're ending up when this is done Let's stop pretending that we've won Let's stop pretending this is fun

I'm getting out of here And fuck your sensibilities And all you think I've done Maybe it's just what we've become Maybe it's just what we've become

Love so strong I thought I'd fall apart I should have known that it wouldn't last It's not like no one told me so So I'll just have to let it go

Things would be easier if I could But I'm not cut out for this, nor are you

Understanding where we're ending up when this is done Let's stop pretending that we've won Let's stop pretending this is fun

I'm getting out of here And fuck your sensibilities And all you think I've done Maybe it's just what we've become Maybe it's just what we've become

Maybe all this has just begun Now everything is said and done Maybe we're just playing along

Love the drive of the bass here. So much fun to have a song about Sense and Sensibility with the line "fuck your sensibilities". I like all the triplets in the vocal melody. And the abrupt ending!
