#deadlyricists #fawm2025 #emilydickinson This is a poem set to music. The Music is actually "Little Orphant Annie" by James Whitcomb Riley, transcribed into music with MIDI. This is pretty bad ass!
Lyrics
I heard a Fly buzz - when I died - The Stillness in the Room Was like the Stillness in the Air - Between the Heaves of Storm -
The Eyes around - had wrung them dry - And Breaths were gathering firm For that last Onset - when the King Be witnessed - in the Room -
I willed my Keepsakes - Signed away What portion of me be Assignable - and then it was There interposed a Fly -
With Blue - uncertain - stumbling Buzz - Between the light - and me - And then the Windows failed - and then I could not see to see -

Another Banger! Love this. What an amazing poem and equally amazing accompaniment. Dig the fuzz/distorted guitar and that buzzin' fly.
@bijou Thank you. This is definitely my favorite song this year. It's funny because I had just looked at your Bandcamp a few minutes ago while catching up on socials. And here you are commenting :-)
Really cool sound and vibe. I little eerie, a little edgy, a lotta cool! :)
@alyak72 this is definitely my favorite song this year. Thank so much for listening!
Very cool concept and great execution. Really good distortion and fly sounds.
@motorcitymusicman Thank you so much! This turned out so much better than I thought it would. Pretty sure this one is a keeper.
I'm a fan of the poem, so I had to click on the title. This is really cool. The music/lyrics/fly sounds come together perfectly. Very well done.
@kdogg thank you! I love how this turned out. My favorite song this year
