My day job is in public service. Has been for decades. As you might imagine, the last few weeks have...not been a great experience.
This past week and into the weekend, this whole business got really personal, as i've watched really talented and dedicated people i care about dismissed with no justification as the guy at the top of the org chart and his idiot enforcer trolled all of us on social media.
Here's my response to that email. I'm hearing simple, accessible Woody Guthrie/Pete Seeger protest song...

Wow. Thanks for writing such an important song! Thank you and all your acquaintances for all your service! Hopefully soon this nightmare ends. I don't know how exactly but songs like this will definitely be a part of ending it. Stay strong stay vigilant!

I spent 21 years in public service and every word you write is true. It is shameful and cruel the way he is treating federal employees and agencies. I hope he is very soon on a one-way trip to space (or his ashes are) and your lyrics are no longer relevant. Can you gather colleagues at lunch time to sing this loudly?
