A different skeleton key

Skirmish: Skeleton Key (@jem)

Liner Notes

#folky #singersongwriter Another go at this prompt, just guitar and vocals this time

Lyrics

If you could unlock all my secrets I wonder what you’d find Buried deep inside of me You’d need a skeleton key

If you could read me like a book I wonder what you’d see Clues hidden deep on every page But you’d need a skeleton key

If you could trace every shadow
That’s tangled inside me You'd find the parts I never show
With just a skeleton key

Mysteries are meant to be Sometimes best not to know We believe what we want to believe I’m gonna hide your skeleton key

Gonna hide your skeleton key Cos you’ve used it enough on me You’ve used it enough on me

You and Suziek seem to be on the same page. I like the basic premise and I especially like the verse that begins “Mysteries….” Great skirmishing!

PS brilliant last line

So impressed by how quickly and well your skirmish songs came together here and how different they are. Beautiful lyrics and i really like the space and spareness of it, that further enhances the great lyrics.

I think the music matches the lyrics so well. Love how you started the verses with “If you” sometimes it is a simple things that catch my ear ✌🏼👏🏻⭐️

I felt similarly. I like your take on the prompt. Knowing all - open access isn’t all it’s cracked up to be - imo. I could not hear your recording - probably something weird on my end. I will check back for a listen. Love the write!
