@disarming : Ah Yes! Let's continue "Railing against these days!" @jmpoet Sent me these fine lyrics and I was happy to set a tune to them! Normally I write the music first and then write lyrics. So this was an interesting change of pace to have some lyrics first. Thanks @jmpoet ! keep up the good work.

Lyrics

This Silence

Many of us made our choice But I don’t agree With what was decided Where does that leave you and me?

The richest few are making choices To slash the “others” to their knees Already down for the count I hear them whisper please

I look to my young children An apology I want to say I need to be able to tell them I did not stay silent, I railed against these days

This silence from the tv turned off Is deafening yet it protects My soul feels like it might be healing But the connection it craves

I look to my young children An apology I want to say I need to be able to tell them I did not stay silent, I railed against these days

Rise up, from wherever you are The time to stand is now The luxury of waiting is over We have to figure out the how

We all need to be able to tell them Our children, All children, state to state We did not stay silent We railed, we railed, we railed against these days

Right on! Anytime I am tempted to crawl back into my shell, I ask myself what did I do to stop it and I want to have an answer or two.
