The poor guy thought it would be so easy to play guitar. So he took the lazy way out.

You have to buy a strap, just my luck It’ll set you back a couple bucks Then you have to tune the strings, what a drag Didn’t know that was a thing, that’s too bad

They didn’t tell me about the chords Got to press down hard on the board And they seem to change with every part So much to learn and I’m not that smart

Got to move your fingers all around All while strumming up and down And this chord they call a barre It’s a lot of work to play guitar

Then I learned of open tuning It wasn’t very time consuming The open D don’t sound so bad And it reminds me of my DAD

So what’s with all the changing keys It seems like too much work for me I keep it simple, not too hard And play my songs with just one chord

This is so clever, and the melody is soooo catchy. The melodic interludes in between verses keeps it from feeling monotonous. Really nice job!

This is so fun. I need to play it for my grandson, who is currently learning to play, and having trouble keeping his callouses, lol! I kinda love this song!

haha, craving all the girls and applause, yes indeed, I think that was me at one point. I like this whole one chord thing, it works for this story song I think, and some great lines here.

Here's to open d! Sounds great. I love how you kept it interesting with just the one chord. That's a cool little riff. I also enjoyed the journey down learning to play guitar. I can relate.

Yeah, I missed that "Skeleton Key" skirmish, too. Nice take, great vocals. I like the hammer-ons that really add to the rhythmic, one-key vibe. And, so relatable. I grew up playing piano but let's face it, you can't bring a baby grand to a frat house party. So, "I bought me a guitar, yes I did" for all the same reasons. And suffered all the same frustrations at learning how to play. Fortunately I now have blisters on me fingers.
