#girlwithpiano #skirmish #piano #80s If you listen to the end, I tongue and cheek play this very very famous 80's tune I (accidentally) reference 😂. Points if you figure out what I'm going to play just based on the intro.
So this would be my second skirmish ever and I never considered doing skirmishes in all my years doing FAWM (I usually have plenty of ideas I prefer to try to work on) so I had no "past skirmishes" I wish I did 😬.
But the word Madness triggered the idea that I finish a song I started a couple weeks ago and haven't had the guts to finish cause, let's be honest, this subject can easily get CHEESY. I really only had a general hook line and melody so most of this was done in the hour.
I'm glad I pushed myself to finish this VERY ROUGH DRAFT of this tune, definitely thanks to this skirmish so thanks @dudachris for the inspiration!

Beautiful and I love your melody and phrasing of hate has no home here. Identified Toto in the first measure, it made me smile. Your vocal and piano are gorgeous. The lyrics are very compelling and inviting.

It really gets me when you sing hate has no home here. Beautiful and tenderly sung. Also I KNEW it was Toto..!! Loveiy, one of my fave songs I sang alto section to in high school choir!! Blast from the past!

This is so lovely – it feels like hope in the darkness <3 Love your piano and vocals, and the tongue-in-cheek segue made me grin. (I did spot it in the intro, but I'm a child of the eighties, so I had a head start ;) )

This is only the second song this fawn that has given me whole body chills. For me that's the highest praise. I love the conversational style of the well written lyrics, and the beautifully composed, played and sung melody. This is a favorite from this fawm for me.

Really lovely message in this one, and the melody carries it beautifully. The warmth in the lyrics makes it feel welcoming, and the way it builds is really effective. And that nod to Africa at the end is a fun surprise!

Oh man these lyrics are amazing! I heard the hook right out the gate, love that song and it works so beautifully with this song. these lyrics really paint the atmosphere and the emotion brilliantly. I like how the melody moves in the chorus.

Lovely message in these fine lyrics. Beautiful piano and vocal too. I really like the part of the melody that is your own. It conveys both the sadness at current affairs and the hope that might rise if people take a stand against it and promote tolerance instead of hate. Beautiful song. Well done!
