Flies in the Ointment

Skirmish: The American Way (@atornberg)Liner Notes
Late to the party. I had scribbled some ideas for this skirmish topic, but didn't get around to producing them. With the FAWM clock ticking, I had Suno #AI generate the music from my lyrics. #country #fullproduction
I'd like to think the American Way is discussion and compromise, and not waving a chain saw to intimidate the Federal workers that keep us safe from danger - whether that's the food supply, infection prevention or air traffic control. I have friends in both blue and red states, and I'm hearing buyer's remorse from those who voted for tax cuts and cheaper eggs but instead are discovering the flies in the ointment. So, this song is #political but making your disappointment known and engaging with others for effective change is the American Way. This is written from the standpoint of a remorseful buyer, and I hope it generates respectful discussion. Superheros are for comic books and movies - the real super heroes are those who contact their representatives, who should convey that dissatisfaction to the powers that be - of whatever political stripe.
Lyrics
FLIES IN THE OINTMENT (c) raspberry33
VERSE 1: So, Day 1 came and quickly went But Ukraine’s still at war My groceries ain’t cheaper That’s what I voted for You raided schools and factories Scared kids with guns and shields Now who’s gonna pick the produce Before it all rots in the fields?
CHORUS: It’s been a week It’s been a month Of nothing but disappointment The buyers are having remorse Finding all these flies in the ointment
VERSE 2: You said you’d make the liberals cry Force Zelenskyy to give it up And drill, drill, drill but yet it costs More to fill my pickup You fired those who keep us safe Do you think that move was wise As measles spreads in Texas And planes fall from the skies? (CHORUS)
BRIDGE: I’ll give you credit – you haven’t done nothing You put insurgents back on the street Tried to rename the Gulf of Mexico Like all it took was a tweet
So Elon waves his chain saw Public servants are now in hiding But eggs still cost more than they did In the last days under Biden
(Instrumental) Verse 3: I’m proud to be American But I hate your hired hands So Putin’s now your bestie Will you do what he commands? As you alienate our allies And the markets start to tank Will that drop the price of groceries Or truly break the bank? (CHORUS)
Outro: I’m sure you think you’re wonderful But where’s my tax cut? Where’s the country I love? We didn't vote for the DOGE boys....
Timely and compelling! The lyric is so spot on! So many great points. This has such a great sound!
