strangers

Liner Notes
well... i was gonna record at home where i have only a very cheap ukulele at the moment. and then i was tired. and then i kinda enjoyed strumming three chords and the truth on that uke. and so i figured i'd give it a try. i was getting latency with my headphones on, so i went with audio drum track on and no headphones, which got messy. then i played that and "sang" without headphones. and the mix is a mess.
i might do a better 3-track version at a later date. but i might not.
Lyrics
would that we were strangers on the street full of wonder and unknown our wildest dreams a possibility would those smitten images retreat and leave us pondering alone all the dead-end street futility
the river time ensures the best of moments end
would that we were strangers again
would that we had back those many years with the wisdom that we gained hindsighted foresight and clarity ooh la la the faces blinded tears would we were just a boy again eviscerate the soul of your sincerity
our numbered days too few to sample anywhen
would that we were starry-eyed again

I like how the mix sounds. It sounds like you are outside somewhere, a lazy summer evening, crickets and such. And the uke is a good contrast with the intensity of your words which are gorgeous as always. More la la las plez.
I like this lyric a lot. It reminds me of the saying 'Youth is wasted on the young'. What I like most about this song, though, is the melody. From reading your liner notes, I gather you may or may not pursue this song any further, i.e., make a better recording of it. Well, I would encourage to do it, because this melody is fabulous and deserves its day in the sun.
