Ideas Are Bulletproof

Here’s my dis-track. Can you guess who it’s directed at? A lot of FAWM folks are writing a lot of protest songs this year. ALRIGHT! Keep ‘em coming. We need community and art and gardens and bicycles and peaceful protest and when necessary civil disobedience and if absolutely necessary.... We'll see.

The spoken word is from Illinois Governor Pritzker from like a week ago. Pay attention y'all!

Lyrics

Feeling bloody exhausted from what these dogs did Are we gonna do this again and again, it’s time to clean the pig pen Looking for excuses blaming others ending truces And inducing vomit, nooses hanging in the balance We’ve got to refuse this

Take it upon ourselves once more, don’t start a war, Meet me on the dance floor Politics of greed and hate, are your lives so pointless You’re so bored Conquer the world but lose your soul Artless lumps your hearts are cold Look in the mirror, are you so bold Insides rotting but the outsides gold (painted gold)

Fairness And Justice and Equality! We shall overcome this inequity! One world or none! Yell with conviction! We’re doing ourselves in with self ambition. We invited big brother into our own minds! Knock and the door will be opened! Seek! Find! Remember! Remember! The 5th of November! Ideas, they can’t die! They’re bulletproof, just ask why!

We’re not gonna do this to ourselves We’re perfect snowflakes but we’ll melt Hearing all these feelings felt Turning the tables when the cards are dealt The president’s native tongue is lies And mr. skum is by his side Who can survive these turning tides There’s a gate that’s narrow and one that’s wide Fall away from the truth, you’ll compromise Everything is lost when you praise his pride Lovers of lies and the new fourth reich This isn’t a joke your conscience fried What’s your plan when the workers rise Build a house fix a car with your slick AI Repent and beg and plead and cry The end is near Your demise is nigh…

Pure awesomeness. The rhythm is so catchy and the lyric is a stunner. "Don't start a war / Meet me on the dance floor" is a great juxtaposition.

LOVE THIS! Hep hep hep! As a brass player I could hear the horns doubling that keyboard line for some extra ska magic! Vocals are so perfect for a protest song! Good work!

I love it ! Both the music and the lyrics ! The rhythm is perfect. I'd love to hear that during a protest.

Wow. On top of the words themselves being well-chosen and needed, the way you fit them to the rhythm is impressive, and the ebb and flow of energy lets the high-energy moments stand out.

love the rhythm you've got going on in this one! Catchy as hell.

Also definitely agree with every bit of the sentiment.

I love this! It’s a great mash up of rap and punk and The Clash. The words flow like a snare drum riff!

OK - now this is my humble opinion, but I could do with out the voice over - let the song tell the story and tell the listener what the moral is.
