Skirmish: Honors (@atornberg)

Liner Notes

Lyrics

When someone dies they don't stay dead They live on in our memories, instead Like a dream, ever changing shifting about but never fading

They wear new clothes when we dredge them up In the zeitgeist you just can't stay uncut we give honors for their past achievements but we forget what's inconvenient

Our legends, not long may they rest Because we know that they were just the best I put a candle out for my idols And make space for them in my bible

As @mikeskliar mentioned the couplet with “but we forget what's inconvenient,” really works. I like your exploration of memorials and heroism and how people find a version of someone to revere without looking too deeply into who they were.

Great interpretation of heroes! Also a fantastic comment about people living in our memories but keeing them alive through writing their name in the family bible. Quick melody and to the point!

great take on the prompt, and some real killer lines, with wisdom and insight. 'we forget whats inconvienent' and that last couplet are particularly well done. music and recording is good too- very sympathetic to the lyric- well done!

And we’ve all got our own legends, some shared sure but some personal heroes too! I like this, makes me think of my dad
