#girlwithguitar #bluesy At the beginning of FAWM I wrote a Lawnmower Man Blues, this is a different version from the lawn owner perspective. Just a bit of fun and a new guitar to test out.

Lawnmower Man Lament [Verse 1] I've been cut down low by the lawnmower man, He's reelin' and mowin', but he don't give a damn. He trimmed all my edges, left my heart in the weeds, Now I'm singin' the blues, bout his dirty deeds.

[Chorus] He's a two-timin' man, mowin' everybody's grass, Got a smooth-talkin' engine, but his love won’t last. Ain’t no mercy in his throttle, no kindness in his eye, Leaves a trail of broken hearts in the dirt where I lie.

[Verse 2] He’s got blades that are sharper than the tales that he spins, Cuts clean through your garden, then he’s gone with the wind. With a wink and a grin, he’ll roll right on by, That lawnmower man ain’t the settle-down kind.

[Verse 3] So I’ve been cut down low by the lawnmower man, But this field’s gonna flourish, I’ve got bigger plans. The grass will grow stronger where he mowed right on through, And I'll find another lawnmower man to pursue.

Love the vibe on this and there's some great lyrics "he trimmed all my edges, left my heart in the weeds" - Yeah, met a few of them in my time! "He's got blades sharper than the tales he spins" "He'll choke on the dust of his own crooked path". Brilliant! Very enjoyable listen. Thanks for your comments on my song Malopropisms btw

The sound here is exactly correct. Love your vocal delivery and the guitar is perfect for the song.

He trimmed all my edges, left my heart in the weeds, Now I'm singin' the blues, bout his dirty deeds. I love the imagery and (gentle) double entendres you've brought to our ears. The blues structure is a perfect frame for a tale like this.

Okay, I love your voice! You sound like an old folk recording, in the best way!! Love the line "He trimmed all my edges, left my heart in the weeds,"...honestly there are so many good lines in this, and some funny double meanings (or maybe my mind is just in the gutter! haha). Love the hopeful "this field's gonna flourish" line at the end too! Such a fun little tune! Thanks for sharing!
