luminol

Liner Notes

too much true crime. also a former fawmer sent a video of an open mic performance, and i forwarded it to some rando guitarist, and he said, oh, that looks like my guitar, and i said, really? and he said, not really... billy bob has my guitar... he doesn't know your blood's all over it. which is true.

oh, also... before that guitarist said that thing about my blood... i'd already jotted down the title "luminol" and i fully meant to channel my distorted memory of a song called "alcohol" by the baptist generals which i saw them perform live when opening for the mountain goats in tallahassee on the "tallahassee" album tour. but my memory might be faulty.

Lyrics

Circus wrapping paper and rubber bands he looks to find what lies within And I wish that I was soberer… He turns it over and over in his hands the bracelet that I game to him... He doesn’t know your blood’s all over it.

Your memory bathed in fleeting blue. The scars and the stains. I remember you.

Luminol Luminol They don’t remember you at all.

A young virtuoso never knows what to expect or what kind of song to sing Gotta wait till you discover it. He moves his fingers deftly up and down the neck I never even changed the strings He doesn’t know your blood’s all over it.

Your rhapsody bathed in fleeting blue. The chords and discords. I remember you.

Luminol Luminol They don’t remember you at all.

Luminol Luminol They don’t remember you at all.

Well i HAD to listen to this based on the title...I'm a scientist and I was literally just doing an experiment that used luminol! I'm not a crime fighter though, mostly looking at cancer. Anyways, the song! I loved the hook, the dissonance on those high notes is great! And whistling, love it!

Super story and very atmospheric!

This cool and dark. The hook is great. I really hope to hear a finished version. So much awesome potential. Love the whistling section as well.
