You know the pop song can be quite insipid Sometimes enough to make you livid Hear it one more time and you just might snap

You know the kind that’s offensive to your ears Made by mechanical audio engineers The world loves it, but to you and me, it’s just crap

The pop song has been around for ages Played on radios and countless stages And modern devices that deliver it loud and clear

Me, I like a pop song as much as the next person But not every pop song, nor every version Though there are many that are very near and dear
