What's In the Middle

Liner Notes
This is a song title prompt using my generator that I have written. I feel like for the last 10-11 years I've been stuck in a chapter where the author kind of lost the plot and doesn't know how to write His way out of the hole He's made. So this song is kind of about being "stuck in the middle" (so to speak) between some bigger life moments.
It definitely has a feel similar to "Black and White People" by Matchbox Twenty. But I think I mucked up the melody enough that it's not a direct ripoff, but definitely its musical cousin.
This is probably my final lyrical entry for this year's FAWM (I doubt I'll get another song tomorrow). This makes 12 brand new lyrical songs for this FAWM. And this time some of them are actually viable.
Lyrics
Day in day out, nothing here ever really changes No one’s talking about the spaces in between Whoever it is that lost the plot should give this story a bit more thought And the days become an echo of the all the weeks we already lived
And now we’re here No steps back So many steps forward And now we know Now we know What’s in the middle
Another day down, the loop that never ends If there any justice something would start to bend I wish I could say that this kind of thing never gets old But if something special arrives I’ll be sure to grab a hold
And now we’re here No steps back So many steps forward And now we know Now we know What’s in the middle
Day in day out, yea day in day out And I’ve done all I can to turn it around
And now we’re here No steps back So many steps forward And now we know Now we know Yea now we’re here No steps back So many steps forward And now we know Now we know What’s in the middle What’s in the middle What’s in the middle Is Me

Very strong lyrics. I like that dissonant flatted 6th at the end of the verse and in the chorus. Nice one.
You do a great job of creating a character who's depressed and feeling hopeless and down. I hope the song is not autobiographical! Good use of traditional cords
