I'm a people pleased by nature and not often angry. That said, more recent politics have made me wrestle with how to handle and ideally channel my anger in positive ways like standing up for the vulnerable around us. So here's my angry song to close out the month. Sorry there's a bit of weird ringing on the guitar at times, I'll have to try to upgrade my sound by next year!

Lyrics

Looking for words to fill this page But all I've got is anger and rage Heavy is my mind To see such darkness in my time (Dark times)

I fear for the children and all the days ahead Grieving and angry, all I see is red Wanna scream and shout We need a way out (Where's the way out)

Don't mean to bring you down But all I've got is a frown Wish I could be more happy But everything's so crappy

Anger isn't my primary emotion Don't like to cause such a commotion But it's time to stand up Say enough's enough (Enough's enough)

Worried and scared and not quite prepared What comes next is anyone's bad guess Just wanna shut the door Can't take that much more

Anger isn't my primary emotion Don't like to cause such a commotion Don't mean to pick a fight Just trying to do what is right (Just do what's right)

We gotta feed the poor and house the stranger Keep the children safe from danger Stand up for those out of sight And hug your rainbows tight (Hug them tight)

We'll sow seeds of mercy row by row Water them with love and hope they grow And we'll pray for tomorrow Pray for tomorrow

Thank you for your comment on my Democracy Phillipics, and with your own angry song, I can understand why you took some time on mine.

Thank you again, this time for your song. We need to hold on to ourselves, and yet not let go of the fight. (raised fist emoji!)

This song has a great vibe. And of course, the sentiment is timely and necessary. I'd love to hear it fleshed out with a full band.

I think this is a great addition to all the other great FAWM protest songs! I'm 100% with you. I too am normally slow to anger but I too am worried and anxious. I love your call to feed folks and protect kids and pray and keep on fighting the good fight. Great song. Beautiful melody and sweet passionate vocals. I love the line "What comes next is anyone's bad guess" but whatever happens Thank you for contributing this song to the future! We need NEED more songs and art like this! Great Job!
