#folkpunk #acoustic #duet ? #spring

@disarming : Trav!s here. Here in the final days and hours we were able to make this collab come together! Thanks Ash! @loveonamixtape in my haste I think I might have buried the vocals in certain parts of the song, but hey FAWM is for writing and recording March and onward is for tidying up and editing. SO grateful to @loveonamixtape for the collaboration. Your songs are so cool I knew your style would be a really cool mix with mine. Keep on pressing on fellow fawmers!

@loveonamixtape: Travis sent me this great song, but it took me a minute to attend to it properly, with life and recording difficulties, etc. But after I recorded along with his original vocal track I was like, "should this be a duet? Our voices sound kinda cool together." (Also, I am a sucker for a duet! Fellow FAWMers, take note!) So I sent my vocal track back with that note and here we are! Thanks for the chance to add my vocals to this great song!

Lyrics

We lost the war. We had no chance. It’s time to sing. It’s time to dance. Escape the world and take a trip. Outside this box. It’s time we dip. This matrix life and all the scams. It’s time to break. It’s time we slam. It’s time to read. This night we’re free. Let’s not pretend it’s not the end.

But spring will come to save us all. In time with robin's song. Turn our frowns all upside down. We’ll love forever. The falling rain will keep us sane. The flowers breakthrough. The frozen ground is gone for now. Eternal sunshine

Humbuggery has won the day. It feels too strange to think this way. Electrons fly. They’re buzzing lies. Infecting minds, ignoring cries. Can you think of some other stuff. We need distraction. I need your love. Another hug, and coffee mugs. Man it’s so rad that you’re my friend.

But spring will come to save us all. In time with robin's song. Turn our frowns all upside down. We’ll love forever. The falling rain will keep us sane. The flowers breakthrough. The frozen ground is gone for now. Eternal sunshine

The guitars have an immediacy that keeps pushing. The drums lock it down. The two vocal styles mix for a duet like two cars parked at a stop signs at a four way stop and drivers of both cars singing the same song to each other out the window. 🤘🎶👏

I like this guitar a lot. And the hard panned guitars and vocals are working very, very well for me. There's something of a devil and an angel in the vocals. A grittier left channel and a more pure right channel. I like it very much.

There's something simultaneously hard-charging and dirge-like about this. I guess it's the interplay of those great guitars and the drum beat, which feels like a slow march. Whatever, the case, I love the intensity, the guitar, the melody lines. Yeah, it all works. Lots of great lines in there. Humbuggery indeed! I agree that the contrast between the growl down low and the sweeter vocal up high works well

Love the contrast in your two vocals, there's a great intensity to the music and the twin vox approach really adds to it.

I love this sounds so huge as an acoustic set up, it works really well, feels urm, rugged? Love the arpeggiated bits to add texture. "The falling rain will keep us sane" is a cool line too.

The vocals work really well together!

I love how big and open and jangly this feels - these are, like, the steeliest sounding steel strings out there. I think I wanted a bit more of the shouty voice, personally.

Workin' "humbuggery" into this gnarly write peppered w matrix was classic! The sound mix and vocals rocked in this song, @disarming , @loveonamixtape ! Dug the tempo--quite infectious--and that "duet" plays perfect and true in combo and timing of the out-of-sync singing duo--that was rather clever btw. All ran fab! Great collab!
