Lyrics
THOSE ARE THE DAYS
Some days the medicine’s poison Some days the healing just hurts like hell Some days it all just seems pointless And I want to crawl right back into my shell
Those are the days when I fold into a prayer So quiet the words don’t touch my ears Those are the day I let my sighs climb the air And trust that the Mystery hears
There are these scars just under my skin Shadows I wear on my sleeves There are some ghosts that now and again Well they come on in and sit right down with me
Those are the days when I fold into a prayer So quiet the words don’t touch my ears Those are the day I let my sighs climb the air And trust that the Mystery hears
Most of the time I’m a cheerful man It’s hard to slip a punchline past me But there are days when I understand How fragile this existence can be
Those are the days when I fold into a prayer So quiet the words don’t touch my ears Those are the day I let my sighs climb the air And trust that the Mystery hears
Those are the days when I fold into a prayer So quiet the words don’t touch my ears Those are the day I let my sighs climb the air And trust that the Mystery hears Oh I trust that the Mystery hears

This is so sad and reflects a serious situation. Beautiful lines throughout like "And trust that the Mystery heals." "Shadows I wear on my sleeve". Stunning lyrics. Passionate, moving vocals. Nice guitar solo too. The melody is lovely as well. Very well done!!! (Thanks so much for your kind words on my song about grief. Much appreciated). Cheers, Smudge
