COUNTRY, FOLK, ACOUSTIC, HUMOR This is a slight rewrite, inspired by an old coworker. He used to keep us in stitches with he and his girlfriends roller coaster romance.

TWISTED LOVE AFFAIR Matthew West © 2025
Monday she’s beyond compare he’s so glad she’s in his life Tuesday he’ll swear he’s gonna make that girl his wife By Wednesday she’s gettin fat she’s a nag and she’s a bore Thursday he’ll up and pack and slip out the back door Friday he’ll give her a call say he didn’t mean it all Saturday they’ll make up Sunday they’ll get rested up To start it all again
It’s a love/hate relationship they’re in They love to hate each other so much that it’s a sin They’ll knock the pictures off the wall Curse till the neighbors call the law It’s a twisted love affair But they don’t really care
Monday he’s the best thing ever happened in her life Tuesday she’ll tell all her friends she’s found Mr. Right Wednesday he’s a selfish pig don’t know what she saw in him Thursday she’ll pack up and split blow out like the wind Friday she’ll apologize while crocodile tears drown both her eyes Saturday they’ll make up Sunday they’ll get rested up To start it all again
Chorus
Now they’re both so full of passion That it is just their fashion To run with any feeling that they have And the thing that boils their blood Seems to bind them through life’s push and shove So I wish them all the best while they go crazy with love
I love the days of the week structure to the song (and how you tell it from each side separately), andI like the framing in the last verse of "their fashion." This is nicely creative -- and I lke that the narrator, outside of this all, can simply "wish them all the best."
