Canapes on the lawn

Skirmish: Party (@richardmasters)Liner Notes
Lyrics
Canapes were served on the lawn As the band struck up a song I danced with a famous film star Who was dressed up like a jaguar, oh yeah
Her dress was faux jaguar print She wore it rather well I was dressed as a panther From the back it was hard to tell, oh yeah
We didn’t talk so much as dance We didn’t dance so much as prance We were trying all the moves Getting into the groove, yeah
Other celebrity beasts were there But I’m not one to name drop With no paps around, they just didn’t care The waiters were all undercover cops
It was a wonderful party It was a night I’ll always remember a wonderful party You should have been there

Nice squirmy skirmmy! You're a great singer. Hitting those notes in a nice smooth melodic way. Appropriate for such a posh do. Keep on prancing!
I like the beat and the imagination of the written lyrics. I danced with a famous film star who was dressed like jaguar, so not kitchy and elegant. I like the rhythm, like a disco or a dance beat. Very well capturing the theme of the skirmish. Master. I just seen how many songs you wrote and I'm in awe. cheers.
This song made me smile throughout, hope it was as enjoyable to make as it is to listen to. Really like the enigmatic "undercover cops" line, hinting at something very different going on! 👌
I like your take on the prompt, celebrities as animals and undercover cop waiters speak of an intriguing narrative - nice delivery and the melody is uplifting too 😊
Fun song! Love the happy mood. But now you make me wonder why the waiters were undercover cops? What else is going on at that party? 😄
For some reason reason this did not play and said it was 0:00 long.
Great lyrics lot of good lines. "The waiters were all undercover cops" . " We didn't dance so much as we pranced". Good write
