Greedy

Liner Notes

@adforperu - I write this just as I watch the Trump/Zelensky press conference live so my brain is a bit fried right now haha. Jesus CHRIST. I'll write more later, but I will just say a massive thank you to @bigmood for collaborating, she's an absolute genius.

@bigmood - same to you dude! This one took a little longer but i'm really satisfied with this one, it's like spicy easy listening

Lyrics

i took a right when a left would do now i’m in a whole ass neck of the wood i don’t know (what to expect)

why didn’t you tell me it was time to come home? I might be out, i don't know (friend) I’ll watch the end

catching a half size sunset on a silver screen call it a night
(a night a night a night a night)

sinkin your teeth in way too sweet but you’re gonna eat call it all right (all right, all right, all right)

you don’t wanna be greedy greedy, greedy, greedy

old timey sepia overtone the warmth of nyquil in a styrofoam
in my head don’t second guess it

why if i keep running into dead ends and you keep running through your friends do we still keep refreshing?

catching a half size sunset on a silver screen call it a night
(a night a night a night a night)

breakin your teeth on
popcorn kernels of an unmet need call it all right (all right all right all right all right)

you don't wanna be greedy greedy greedy greedy greedy greedy greedy

catching a half size sunset on a silver screen call it a night
(a night a night a night a night)

breakin your teeth on
popcorn kernels of an unmet need call it all right (all right all right all right all right)

you don't wanna be greedy

I love @bigmood 's vocals! that filter voice for (a night a night a night a night) is cool. and the lights keys are very nice in the background. cool production!

Really stunning vocal work here. Ad's instrumentation is so well judged too - just the perfect level of restraint I reckon. Great collab!

I've been saving this one. 2 S-tier fawmers, so I know it's gonna be good and it did not disappoint! It's really magical; unique and so accomplished, which amazes me because I'd need to do a style 100 times before I got anywhere close to something this good. I've heard you both go bombastic this year, so this was a nice surprise to hear this understated and sweet tune. If I didn't know better I'd think you were Icelandic!

The ha ha ha staccato melody bits remind me of the closing theme from Spirited Away (Baths Remix). “The warmth of Nyquil in a styrofoam” and “popcorn kernals of an unmet need” are brilliant lines. Ad’s synth work does well to stay melodic yet restrained because the vocal is absolutely wonderful and deserves to be at the front.

@tezzin

There's a certain playfulness that comes through in the melodies and the layered sonic textures. And that unexpected -- I'm going with "color shift" -- when it gets to the "greedy" part... Delicious!

'Popcorn kernels of an unmet need' is a hell of a line. That slide down into the greedy bits is excellent. Pop sugar buzz cut with a nice bit of sour. Love this.

@hanley

So bouncy and cheerful, full of pop brilliance but never feels clichéd. There's a lot happening rhythmically but it never gets messy. The little changes to minor are the perfect diversion to shake things up. How you come up with such hooky vocal melodies is beyond me, some kind of super power I assume. Loving all the imagery too, really delightful

Love the style of this, great production ideas and cool percussive elements lifting the song. Banging vocals as well!

Oh wow guys, i will say more but truly i could just say everything from the music creating, the lyrics, the production and to add stunning harmonies, unique and individual style are simply stunning.

My fav part is actually the Last greedy chord movements break. So unexpected yet perfectly done. Seriously what magic is all this. Woohoooo

The kind of stuttered (insert better word) vocal affect scattered sounds so cool.

The whole backing sounds very, erm, floaty, with those like steel dru-esque sounds and the conversational tone matches. Really great melody too.

@what

WOW! everything about this is great! starts very excellently! The loose vocal melody (and backing vox) is so charming against the mechanical backdrop - lots of reminders of past and present sounds, but it's something that holds itself up as its own thing. nice mix - laid back and intimate - Amazing collab - by far the best song i've hear this year! Thanks!

How awesome, love these intimate vocals and all the electronics swirling around, especially like how those backing vocals sound. Cool bass line too.

Love the twinkly backing track here and the glitchy drums - reminds me a little of my beloved I Am Robot And Proud. The vocals are perfect and take it into the stratosphere! Such a wonderful melody and harmonies deployed to perfection. Absolutely superb.
